Along with the evolution of time and throughout history, medical advancements often stem from tragedies in trial and error. Most often questionable methods of the past. The history of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR, embodies this difficult scientific process. Beginning crudely as "the kiss of life" and ending with the strangely fitting beat of "Stayin' Alive," the tale of resurrecting the dead is a convoluted journey toward life preservation.
